We all know that time where we get a new console and turn it on, and we're like:

"WHOA THEM GRAPHICS"

I was like that when I first played my Wii U. So, today we are going to look at how graphics have evolved.
(I'm also doing the consoles that are more known than others.)

Generation 1

The first ever home console released was the Magnavox Odyssey, released in 1972.

Generation 2

The Atari 2600 was Atari's first console, and was released in 1977.

The Maganvox Odyssey 2 was basically the same thing as the first one, released in 1978.

The Atari 5200 came after the 2600, and was slightly better, released in 1982.

Generation 3

The Nintendo Entertainment System almost single-handedly saved the video game industry, released in 1985.

The Atari 7800 was Atari's third console, released in 1984.

The Sega Master System is when Sega entered the market, released in 1985.

Generation 4

The Sega Genesis was Sega's second console, and was released in 1988.

Neo Geo was made by SNK, and released in 1990.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System was the second Nintendo console, and released in 1991.

The Philips CD-i, well, see my last Blog Post, but it was released in 1991.

Generation 5

The Atari Jaguar was Atari's last console (I think), released in 1993.

The Sony Playstation was Sony's first console, and released in 1994.

The Sega Saturn was Sega's first 3D console, released in 1994.

The Nintendo 64 was a response to the Sony Playstation, released in 1996.

Generation 6

The Sega Dreamcast was Sega's last console, and released in 1998.

The Sony Playstation 2 was Sony's second console, and released in 2000.

The Nintendo Gamecube was Nintendo's least selling console, released in 2001.

Microsoft released their first console, the Xbox, in 2001.

Generation 7

The Xbox 360 was Microsoft's second console, and released in 2005.

The Playstation 3 was Sony's (WAIT FOR IT) third console, released in 2006.

The Nintendo Wii was released in 2006, also.

Generation 8

Nintendo's first HD console, the Wii U, was released in 2011.

The Playstation 4 was released in 2013.

The Xbox One was also released in 2013.
